Sorry, water taxes are coming. Expect them to rise each time the government need more money. For eco reasons and financial reasons consider Rain Water Harvesting. During a new build, at least, make provision for adding a system later. If drains and plumbing are not designed to accommodate a system at time of build it is unlikely the house owner will endure the disruption and extra cost of digging up finished surfaces to change drainage later.

rain water harvesting systems

There are now systems available in Ireland and the UK which are modular so that the house owner can start with a stage 1 system and upgrade later if required. Some systems use a concrete tank which is stronger and requires less ballasting. Reinco has looked at quite a few systems being offered.
