Why was Reinco formed ?

Eric Davidson found that visitors to Self Build shows were being confused by conflicting advice on similar products.  He also met many people who spent several years amassing information but needed help evaluating and prioritising their data.  On some building sites tens of thousands of pounds had been spent on low priority, slow payback technologies, leaving meagre budgets available for insulation and other items which should be given much greater priority.

The right system for you

Renewable energy systems are difficult to compare.  Each seller will demonstrate the merits of his product.  As an independent consultancy, Reinco can help the client to select the technology best suited to the house, the site and  the life style and help balance capital cost against likely running costs.  Having chosen the technology Reinco can guide the client through the maze of products to identify the best solution at the most competitive cost. Both the product and the supplier are under scrutiny.

All guidance and recommendations are based on historic performance of companies and products.  Reinco does not take commissions from any company or individual.  The only income is from fees charged to the client. 

Why do it this way?

The self builder researches, decides, builds once.  They are much better informed at the end of process.  Reinco does this a few times every week.  Many equipment suppliers would be happy to pay Reinco a commission if they were recommended as supplier.   Reinco’s independence would be compromised.  The only way the consultant can remain independent is to charge a fee to the client.  Virtually every existing client has said that the fee was a good financial investment which has been saved many times over.  

The Consultation

Eric Davidson will visit your site, study your plans and discuss all elements of your proposed house with regard to energy use and comfort.  This visit could take two and half hours depending on the number of questions asked.  At the end of the visit the ‘one off’ consultancy fee is due.  Normally within 3 days the “Renewables and Insulation Report” giving systems, specifications, budget prices and recommendations is e-mailed to the client.  E-mail and telephone support is available until the project is completed.
